HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil)
DESCRIPTION & USAGE
Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil is a paraffinic diesel fuel that can be used as a direct replacement for both red and white diesel in any on-road or off-road diesel engine. It offers superior operational and environmental performance over fossil diesel with vast environmental benefits which is helping businesses across the world make their fleets more environmentally friendly.
It is made from certified waste materials and has up to 90% lower net CO2 greenhouse gas emissions compared to mineral diesel. HVO is derived from vegetable oils or animal fats and undergoes a hydrotreatment process to produce a cleaner high qulaity fuel - it is chemically identical to fossil diesel.
HVO fuel comes in all kinds of blends. It can be used both pure (100% concentration), as well as blended in any ratio with e.g. fossil diesel. For example, HVO20 consists of 20% HVO and 80% fossil diesel.
Neste MY Renewable Diesel is an HVO100 product, meaning HVO in its purest form.
